Dr. Steve Beaty
Dr. Beaty’s passion for eyes began when he was in the second grade in a small middle Tennessee town. He was struggling after moving to a new school. He was disruptive in class and not making good grades. One day, he took a standardized state test, and his teacher was surprised that he scored much better than expected! After a parent-teacher conference, Steve went to his local optometrist for his first eye exam.
His eye doctor diagnosed this young boy with myopia or nearsightedness, which was the root of many of his school struggles. When Steve put on his new pair of glasses, he saw individual leaves on the trees for the first time! His grades improved, and he never forgot all the amazing gadgets he saw at his optometrist’s office!
Dr. Steve Beaty finished high school in Trussville, Alabama, graduated from Auburn University with honors. He then earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed a residency in Family Practice Optometry at the University Eye Institute in Houston, Texas, where he also served at Chief Resident. He then moved to North Mississippi where he has cared for the people of his new home for nearly thirty years!
Dr. Steve Beaty specializes in Pediatric Optometry and Dry Eye Treatment.
Dr. Steve is married to his best friend and business partner, Dr. Samantha Beaty. He lives in Dorsey, MS where he raises his seven children. He enjoys attending church, fishing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and investing.
Dr. Samantha Beaty – Optometrist
A North Mississippi native, Dr. Samantha Beaty has always been dedicated to helping local patients of all ages achieve optimal vision. She was the only Mississippi resident accepted to the UAB School of Optometry the year she applied.
